Orrery Press was started in 2023 by Anthony Cook and his family to share their enthusiasm for astronomy and stargazing. Anthony retired after working at Griffith Observatory for over four decades while creating many happy memories with his family watching meteor showers and eclipses in the mountains. The mission of Orrery Press is to engage and to encourage new or current amateur astronomers everywhere. By highlighting the experiences of night sky observations or how to make your own telescope, others can learn and pass it on to their families. The art contest can spark interest featuring the myriad astronomical events to inspire people of all ages.
Help grow the Orrery community any way you can by participating, encouraging, mentoring, volunteering for kids, schools and visitors to this website.
Leave your comments on how to make things better for amateur astronomers to come together and help out.
Connect with others in our Town Chatter--give us your ideas, offer your advice, share your astronomy photos, reveal your stargazing experiences, answer somebody’s questions, tell us your tips of dark sky observations, explain your hacks for how to stay warm in a car, campsite, desert, mountain when stargazing--to persuade others to do it!
Help your neighbors become budding amateur astronomers!
Join our journey and have an adventure!
